Coventry Swim School is Private company limited by guarantee without share capital that operates in accordance with the rules and regulations of Swim England. This privacy policy outlines how Coventry Swim School collects, use, and protect personal information related to swimmers of the swim school, their parents/guardians, and staff members involved with the Swim School.

Coventry Swim School are committed to providing safe, high-quality swimming lessons that build confidence and skill, with all lessons being taught by qualified swimming teachers.

While Coventry Swim School cannot guarantee that every swimmer will progress at the same rate or to the same level, the swim school is dedicated to supporting all swimmers to achieve the standards required for their target award and to provide them the learn to swim environment to reach their full potential in learn to swim. 


GDPR Policy

Coventry Swim School is a private company limited by guarantee without share capital, overseen by Swim England regulations. As a swim school, Coventry Swim School collects and stores personal data about its swimmers (children and adults), their parents/guardians (where appropriate), and staff (referred to as “members”). As such, Coventry Swim School is bound by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which came into effect in May 2018.

The Management Committee of Coventry Swim School is responsible for ensuring GDPR compliance and ensuring that staff and volunteers understand their obligations regarding personal data privacy. This includes preventing data breaches (i.e., unauthorized access to or loss of personal data) and ensuring that Coventry Swim School is able to respond to Subject Access Requests (SARs) within the required 30-day period. 


Safeguarding Policy

The Coventry Swim School Safeguarding Policy is an addendum to the Swim England Child Safeguarding Policy and Procedures – Wavepower 2024.

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and all Coaches, Teachers (both paid and voluntary) & volunteers, during the course of their responsibilities have direct or indirect contact with children and families and vulnerable adults, or who have access to information about them, have a responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.

Coventry Swim School is committed to develop the policies and guidelines within its current safeguarding structure to ensure that all children and vulnerable adults have a safe environment in which to learn and develop to the best of their ability.


Feedback Policy

Coventry Swim School are committed to providing the best possible service and experience for everyone involved. Coventry Swim School highly value feedback as it helps them celebrate successes and, importantly, use constructive criticism to improve and enhance their services for customers benefit.

Positive feedback is always appreciated, especially when Coventry Swim School have gone above and beyond to meet customer and staff needs. Hearing praise allows Coventry Swim School to acknowledge and thank the team member who delivered outstanding service and celebrate their dedication to our valid customers.

Coventry Swim School also understand that there may be occasions when service doesn’t meet the high standards that is set by the Swim School Manager set or that customers and staff expect. In such cases, Coventry Swim School welcome feedback, as it gives the swim school the opportunity to rethink, redesign, or retrain in areas that need improvement.


Swimming Hat Policy

Coventry Swim School are putting this policy in place to ensure cleanliness in our venues and swimming pools, reducing the risk of closures and to ensure swimmers have the best opportunity to reach their full potential. The aim of this policy is to promote safe and appropriate practice by establishing clear guidelines in accordance with the swim England guidelines. This policy applies to all members of the Swim School. 

The Directors are also accountable for ensuring that all adult leaders and volunteers within the swim school understand their responsibilities and duties regarding Coventry Swim School hat policy.
